Glycate hemoglobin test is more precise test as it measures the average of your blood glucose level through the past three months. It is very important to do this test if you have any signs of diabetes and especially if your casual blood test came out with high results. This test will help your doctor to determine whether you are really a diabetic patient or you are only suffering from a temporary rise in the blood glucose level.

Once you are diagnosed as a diabetic patient you need to keep an eye on your blood sugar level. The easiest way to do this is to take home blood glucose test on your own. The test should be taken every couple of days to see if you are maintaining an acceptable level of blood glucose or not. If you found out that your blood glucose level is high then you need to find out whether this occurred because you are taking insufficient medicine or because of imbalanced food diet.
